Bay Colony is a guard-gated enclave of waterfront estates on the north side of East Fort Lauderdale, built for privacy and estate-scale living near Coral Ridge and Lauderdale-by-the-Sea.

Bay Colony is the most private enclave on the north side of East Fort Lauderdale: guard-gated, waterfront, and intentionally separate from commercial life. It has drawn national and international attention in recent years, which few Fort Lauderdale neighborhoods can claim.

Waterfront and boating

Bay Colony is known for large waterfront estates and routes with no fixed bridges. No fixed bridges does not mean equally fast to the ocean, so buyers with larger boats should compare depth, canal width, turning room, and the run to their preferred inlet.

Clubs and the daily rhythm

There is no nightlife inside the gate, and that is the point. Residents head out to Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, beach dining, the Oakland Park and Federal Highway corridor, or Las Olas. Coral Ridge Country Club and Coral Ridge Yacht Club are close by. Club membership is separate from owning a home here.

Who it fits

Buyers who put privacy and estate-scale waterfront first. It is farther from Las Olas and Port Everglades than the southern neighborhoods, and errands mean leaving the gate.
